It's all in me head...

This morning I was shaving in my bathroom mirror, not looking forward to the day. The guy in the mirror looked beaten down, discouraged and downright depressed. "I wish things were different" I said to myself. I really didn't like what I saw. Then, just for grins, I decided to see what I would look like if some wizard waved his magic wand and then "Poof!", I had plenty of money and a career that I really loved.
Then I watched as my reflection changed. I was holding my head high and had a glow about me that was dripping in confidence. "Now, that's more like it!" I exclaimed.
Then I started having visions of me going through my usual daily activities and seeing vast differences. Instead of my usual complaining about work and my boss, I had a new attitude because I didn't need the old job anymore. I watched myself as I packed up my office stuff, smiled at my former cube mates and waltzed out the door, headed straight for my new career.
The visions continued. There I was, eating at a nice restaurant, not even looking at the prices, and enjoying the company of new friends. I looked down. I was wearing new expensive clothes and "looking good" as Freddie Prinze would say.
Then I walked out to the parking lot. There was my new black 2-door Mercedes, shining the sunlight, begging for me to take her for an evening drive. As I glided inside, sliding over the leather upholstery, I looked over and saw the loving eyes of my beautiful wife, who kissed me on the cheek.
Needless to say, this experience felt really good, really alive. In fact, sometimes I go back and read what I just wrote to rekindle that feeling again.
"I want to feel that way all the time!" I thought. So, why can't I? I know that I'm the one who created this life in the first place! All of this couldn't have come into existence without me participating in it. It is up to me to change it.
I have been told that when I change, my world changes. It's time for me to become the person that I want to be.
